I always thought my dog was a good healthy weight at around 4.5 lbs. Could always see his waist and feel his ribs. But, when he was sick the last time, he dropped down to 3.6 lbs and when I was talking to the specialist/nutritionist, she said she felt that he was an at ideal weight like that, even though I thought he looked too thin. She said she would rather they stay on the thinner side like that, because they have less stress to their joints and it will cause them a lot less problems when they are older. So, I agree with the previous posts: if you have concerns, you might want to talk to your vet about it first.
