Default shots

Giving Oxytocin is not something to be done lightly. If done improperly, the uterus can rupture. Correct dosage is important. In the beginning I asked my vet to draw up several injections before whelping. As posted, do not give at the start of labor, before the uterus is fully dilated.
It is important IMO to give it after whelping to clean the bitch out of placentas, etc.

If you do not know what you are doing it is best to let the vet do it.
