Omg Scare of a lifetime

I had the worst thing happen on Friday right after lunch. I was walking quickly in one direction and wee Sophie darted in my path and I hit her with my forward swinging leg.
She gave out 1 yelp and fell down, head turned to the side, eyes open, small shallow breathes but not moving at all. I was out of my mind with fear that I had injured her terminally! She was totally limp as a rag.

We scooped her up and headed to the nearest Emergency Vet which, fortunately is only about 3 miles from our office. All the way there she still was the same. As we turned into the parking lot she suddenly became alert and moving. They took her straight back and within a few minutes they told us she appeared to be fine. They kept her for 4 hours of observation as she showed a slow neurological response on her rear right leg, which returned to normal quickly. Apparently I knocked her out cold! OMG I have never been as frightened in my life. She has been totally fine all weekend and had a follow up visit with our normal vet first thing this morning.

I think I will get something the size of a cow bell for her to wear.
