That's a tough one, my dad feeds his puppies IAMS and I'm NOT happy about it. it's kind of the same thing. One thing you could try to explain, is that these foods have fillers. So essentially you are feeding a lot more food than needed. If they buy a better brand they will not have to feed as much (or feed equal to get the proper weight), and "higher quality" feeds aren't that much more expensive, cause they are not big brands, you pay a lot for the brand.
