I have never, ever used any flea preventative on my dogs. I live in Florida, home of the flea, and have never had a flea problem because I treat the yard. The pest control guy stops by every other month and sprays the front and back yard and I've yet to find a flea on the dogs. I don't have carpets, only tile and wood flooring but when I did have carpeting I took the extra precaution of treating the carpet too. Frontline is a poison, that's how it kills the fleas. Interceptor is a necessary evil because without it the dog would surely get heartworm which is deadly.
