yorkie in ga I have contacts with a rescue that was willing to take the little yorkie but by the time a got to the shelter she had already been spoken for by another rescue. I stayed in there awhile and played and talked to her. She was a cutie and sooo friendly. I have been pulling, fostering and doing some transporting for several different rescues for about 2 yrs now. My last one was a cattledog that I pulled and fostered for 2 1/2 months before we were able to arrange transport for her with pilots-n-paws. I also picked up 2 other dogs for a different rescue so that they could go on the same transport. They are all in Colorado and doing well. I will probably be going to Henry County shelter tomorrow to pick up another cattledog for them. Hopefully the heat embargo is lifted and she will be able to fly out sooner. I love helping these animals in need. Like I said I have 3 yorkies now-one is an elderly foster that I adopted and I adopted a little blind maltese puppy from someone on craigslist that didn't have the time for a handicapped puppy. I just lost my beloved 18 year old Heidi (yorkie in acute renal failure that I treated for 3 1/2 yrs) in Jan and lost my 16 1/2 year old Kady 1 1/2 years ago who lost both of her eyes due to cancer and glucoma years before and died from a brain tumor. I love all dogs especially little yorkies and as you can see from them living as long as they did take very good care of them. I sent in several applications to adopt a yorkie after my Kady died but never heard back from any of the rescues. I figured they thought I had too many so that is why I have not tried again.
