  My friend did have rules about picking up the puppy. The dad was a vet. Anyone who has kids knows how easily rules are forgotten when they are with friends, though. 
 
 
It only takes an instant for a Yorkie to be injured. They'll be much safer locked away from the kids. 
I have to do that when my grandchildren visit. They are very good with pets, but 5 & 2 year olds are just too busy and fast. I either pen Lady off, or put her in her playpen or stroller. My granddaughter loves to push her around the house in her stroller!
