You don't want to buy a dog from a pet store. 98% of the time, it's from a Puppy Mill. And when getting a dog from a breeder, you probably won't find one for $600. When it comes to a Yorkie, because of the issues that they are prone to, you want to buy your breeder before you buy the dog. You need a pup with a good, healthy line. Check ytca.org and see if you can find a breeder from your area. You might be able to find a rescue or a teen. Another thing, and please don't take this badly, if you can't afford the dog, how can you afford the vet bills? Because Yorkies come with nice little vet bills. Even if they're healthy. Fynn's puppy shots cost me about $100 each time. Getting him neutered will be another $200. Then, there's his food, his treats, his potty pads (because potty training them is hard.), his toys, his bully sticks, his beds, his kennel... It all adds up. Not including the amount of money that I paid for him, I have probably spent $3000 dollars on him.
This breed is wonderful and I'm not trying to discourage you, I just want you to know that they're expensive.
Good luck in whatever you choose to do. Stay on this forum and check things out. Hopefully you'll find some useful information.
