So glad you discovered about Connie Fahey before being saddled with a possibly sick puppy. Good you are doing the research before buying.
Just don't forget that the less expensive puppies can sometimes end up being the most expensive - vet bills if there are any genetic disorders etc. Buying from a reputable breeder may cost a little more in the beginning, but in the long run be more expensive.
So sorry you lost the companion you had for more than half your life.
Good luck in your quest for a new companion, although they will never replace the one you lost.
