Default teeth

First of all, I'm sorry to hear about your dog's teeth, that's terrible.

I know some dog's teeth are better than others. We ourselves are guilty of not brushing their teeth as often as we should because they make a big fuss and struggle like scalded cats.

We give our babies bully sticks, denta-stix, chicken jerky, top-quality dry food.

Even so, ours are almost two years old and have some tartar build-up. We had their teeth cleaned when we had them spayed at a year old, plus some baby teeth pulled.

Tooth decay is a major source of infection. But I wonder: what are the possible long-term detrimental effects of putting a 6 lb. dog under anesthesia once a year ? Has anyone here done this ? Is it safe ?

Pardon me while I go brush my babies' teeth........
