Yesterday I realized that Reno wasn't going into the pen because he felt safer there, but because he thought that was what was expected of him.
So, I closed the door to the pen to see what would happen. He wasn't a bit concerned that he couldn't get into it. He decided he liked Lil Bit's bed better (Lil Bit never uses it, she prefers the chair with Bruce).
He slept in the bed all night.
I opened the back door this morning and I went to sit in a lounge chair I have out there. I then called "Reno" and he came bounding out of the house to me. He knows his name!
Ever since he got here Beamer has been trying to get him to play, and he wouldn't have any of that! But today he tried to get Beamer to play with him, his little tail wagging (first time I have seen his tail wag), and Beamer didn't want to play!!!! But they did chase each other around the yard later.
He found one of Beamer's bones in the yard and decided he wanted to play with it, he was actually growling and barking at it, so he has found his voice!!!

Soooo happy he is coming around!!!! Hooray for Reno!!! You and Bruce are doing a wonderful job!!! Keep the updates coming! It shows that things may take a little time but underneath it all every dog, once given love and affection will come around
