Mine have always slept in my bed from day one. I have crate trained them as well but I just don't like it, I like snuggling with them, lol.
What I do is put a diaper on them so I don't have to worry about any accidents. Once the diaper starts staying dry I know that I can then trust them on my bed with no accidents. It works great as it tells you when they are capable of holding it all night long.
I also have steps going up to my bed. When they are older I teach them how to use the steps. At the bottom of the steps I keep a pad there for them for the few days I sleep in. So when they can't hold it any longer they use the steps to go to the pad and then come right back up after they are done. It all equals no accidents on my bed.
