Also, see if there is a local kennel club, either breed specific or general, in your area. You may be able to attend some of their events or get recommendations from them.
Learn the red flags commonly associated with Yorkie breeders so that you know which breeders to avoid.

I don't think this point can be stressed enough. There are some very unethical breeders even here on YT

, many of whom contact members privately for fear that the less favorable aspects of their programs will be brought to light if they post pups publically.
