I have just bought a stethoscope and am trying to hear little heartbeats in Maddie's belly. Nothing...not even a hint of a heartbeat. It works, because I can hear Maddie's heartbeat when I put it to her chest, but no puppy heartbeats. Maddie is at 40 days now. I thought I should be able to hear something. I'm really worried. I'm also a novice, so maybe i'm doing something wrong or there is a certain type of stethoscope I should purchase?? I tried to feel her stomach for any signs of pups, but I don't want to press on her too much when I don't know what I'm doing. I thought I felt one little lump on her side, but unless you're experienced, you really can't tell. I am worried this may be a false pregnancy.
Would her belly start to get larger when having a false pregnancy? Sorry for all the questions!!
