It just happened that my vet particated in the Spay/Neuter program in my area. I love my vet and was very happy to find out that he was part of this program. Our local PAWS sells the certificates which you prepay and present as payment on the day of surgery. They had a list of are vets and you were able to chose which one that you wanted to use. It included overnight stay and pain management. I did pay for the blood work and pain meds after but it was still a nice savings. I have to agree that $140 is very reasonable for a spay. But there are programs that are cheap and if money is an issue they should be used to prevent pregnancy.
