I see that you are a relatively new member of YT. With time you will see this exact story repeated over and over again. The same advice is always given in the same manner. It really is very sad.
I'd also like to add the if your vet quoted $140 for a spay~neutering is always less costly. When I had by boys neutered I paid less then that for BOTH. There are all kinds of programs and clinics that offer low cost spay/neuter.
