What an inspiring story. You articulated the feelings all pet owners who really love their pets go through when something is wrong. I went through some of these ups and downs with my Bungee when her health started to fail. One day when she'd be doing a little better I would be elated, only to crash when she got worse. I think Layla is a very lucky dog to have found someone who would take such good care of her and still love her despite her problems.
Thank you! I started this thread frantically looking for advice, but I've kept it up hoping to help out other owners who might go through this in the future. I want everyone to know that dogs with disabilities can live full and healthy lives!
