Mesh is a great idea! I'm going to go look at the medical rails again with that suggestion. I thinking putting a rail on the bottom end of the mattress is what I'll wind up having to do/try. I'm just afraid Alex will walk off the open space when I get up in the night.
I checked several stores last night and the only one I can find around here that fits a king size mattress is the one already I have for the other side of the bed. I've found a couple online that will fit, but they'll only cover the bottom end half of the mattress - I was really hoping to find a longer rail that will protect more length.
