I had a Maltese and have always had terrible allergies. He didn't impact them at all; though I realize we can all be affected differently.
If your girl already has an 'alpha' personality; a more laid back companion might just be a good fit. Everyone will be happy with their role. Casper had tons of energy and could walk for miles and miles. Though - it is true he wasn't quite as 'everyday hyper' as my little Lucy Lu!
She would love a little maltese to play with and boss around!
