Honestly, I do not brush my dogs teeth - but I do give one greenie every night (I know - there is a lot of controversy on that - but it works for me) and they visit the groomers every 6 weeks or so. I have the groomer brush their teeth. My yorkie is 5 years old and her teeth still do not require a teeth cleaning (I'm sure some day she'll need it). And for a fresher breath - I spray this spray (don't have it in front of me to tell you what it is) in her mouth every once in a while. (There's also this blue stuff that you can put in his water - but I didn't like it).

But, if yours needs his teeth cleaned, at this point, I really don't think that brushing them will help. You may have to make that appointment with your vet for a cleaning. Good luck!
