Petsmart will teach you only "positive training" (no water bottles -though a water bottle with a 1/2 tsp of vinegar added to it sure surprises them) to ignore the behavior and reward(treat). I tried that(to some avail), then added something else I learned elsewhere: ignore, then once they get quiet (if you can stand it that long) make them do something for the reward after being quiet: like "sit", "shake" (whatever they know), then give the treat. That seemed to work a little better as they other seemed to have taught them to bark and then shut up for a minute and they'd get a treat (thereby encouraging the initial barking)..with the quiet, do a trick, then get a reward they seem to be catching on the treat is for the trick and doing the trick makes 'em forget what they were barking at. Worth a try. Kendra
