He is now settled down for the night. I have a small pen (plenty big enough for him to move around in) that I put him in for the night. He has food and water in case he wants some in the night. He hadn't seem too interested in the food and water bowls I have down for Lil Bit and Beamer (they are free fed), so I was a little worried that he may not eat. But when I put him in the pen I gave him a jerky treat (just 97% lean ground beef that I dehydrate myself) and he loved it. So gave him a couple more and a chicken jerky (again dehydrated myself from chicken breast that Bruce had cooked). Plus he decided to eat the food in the bowl I put in the pen.
He has been through a lot today - being brought to a new place to "strangers" so he is doing a lot better than I expected. He will soon get used to being in a home. Puppy mill rescues are so special.
Bruce will let him out in the morning if he is up before me, and he will have the free roam of the house, but the pen door will stay open in case he wants to go in there to feel "safe". I also put a blanket in there (thank you Sugarmamma
) and he can take that with him when he gets his forever home.
He is so precious. Going to keep the name Reno (how could I say "no" to Megansmomma
).
