Adult weight? Hey, I just did a search for this as it really interests me. Over here (UK-or at least Scotland) yorkies, that I see, are not always as small as 3lbs.
My wee boy is 9.5lbs, maybe even 10 since last weigh in, and he is small against some yorkies he comes up against in the UK! He looks so tiny to me and as a baby puppy at 7 weeks when I got him he only weighed 0.8kg and was the runt (although I don't like that word so I call him the wee man of the pack), so about 1.5lbs and the vet said he would be lucky to reach 2.5kg therefore maybe a bit over 3lbs as an adult but he has grown loads although he is still very skinny and is not overweight for this frame.
I am so proud of him and it doesn't bother me whatever weight he is but I just wondered if over in the states it was common to see yorkies as big as him? I cannot imagine letting him play with the other dogs up the hill if he was smaller, do you find that hard? He already has my heart jumping into my throat as he seems to think he is the biggest dog up our local hill lol. He is also faster than them all and can outrun them. It is so funny. |
