I live in Boston and I think it's something to due with the weather or season allergies. A lot of pet owners that I know have brought this up and my Vet mentioned she noticed more reports of pets scratching, licking, itching and biting their skin. Zoey is on Frontline and I've never seen a flea on her, but this summer she was itching more, and biting & licking her front paws as well as scratching around her ears. I took her to her Vet and she didn't see any fleas on Zoey, no ear infection or anything major, her Vet just thought one area of Zoey's skin was dry so she prescibed DermaPet: Eicosaderm and it seems to be working. You're suppose to pump it on their food - it's as simple as that. Can be a struggle to get your dog to eat though - Zoey doesn't like the taste of it on her food! But it seems to be working - I've noticed less scratching and biting. It works for a lot of Dermatologic Diseases such as seasonal allergies, food allergies, flea bite allergy, seborrhea complex, pyoderma, dry & dull coats. I would give the Hydroxyzine and Omega Tri-V capsules a little bit of time to see if there is any difference and if the Rx's are working.
