Its only been a few days. Give your baby time to adjust. It sounds like you are doing well with breaking up her crate time. But you might have started out too abrubtly. The guidence for crate training suggests that you gradually get your baby use to the crate. Its possible the first experiance she had with a crate was when she came to you. In that case, she might associate it with abandonment and being yanked away from her family.

I think the suggestion to try a laundry or bathroom is a great idea. It took Crickett a little while to calm down when I first got her too. (Though admittedly she didn't cry ALL the time, just when I left.) You might try the exercise of "practice leaving" Where you leave the house for a few minutes (I stood walked just a few yards from the door) wait a few minutes, then return, then leave again, stay away a little longer, then return. Expand the time you are gone each time. This helps the puppy associate that while you may be gone, you will come back.

Good luck, and don't do anything rash yet! It's just the "New Puppy Stress Syndrome" ;-)
