The new signs, diggimg and panting shows she is now on the other stage of labor, the vet is right about the plug , it can come 24 to 26 hours before the first puppy , that is what i had here before. All you can do now is get relaxed and watch, her contractions are positioning the puppies and opening her cervix, when she is ready you will see a "sack" coming first, do not mess up with it, do not poke it, let it be by its own, after the first water breaks you should have a puppy withing minutes or up to 2 hours, after the water breaks, if you see no puppy coming withing 2 hours is a trip to the vets to check calcium levels and blood work , and if needed be , safely call for a c-section. as you can see there are still a lot of signs and things going on. Give her nutrical here and there to keep her energy, labor is exhausting, i also chew a "tums" tablet and "spit" on the mouths of my girls at this point . Just to keep them from vomiting and give a little extra help as the calcium from the tums pass the GI , some of it gets slowly absorbed.
Hoorayyyy ... we should see puppies anytime now !
