I have found that even with the higher quality foods I still typically feed less than what is suggested on the bag to have my girls maintain their weight. I do give them quite a few snacks during the day too (veggies, fruit, coconut chips, etc.), so that might be part of the reason too. It may be that Jackson does need all 5 patties, but I think that would be way too much for Rory. At any rate, I'm sure he'll be happy to have some raw incorporated into his diet.

The freeze-dried ones are definitely much more expensive, but I'm sure invaluable in an emergency! The vendor at the last dog event we attended was passing out samples and touting them as great for travel. I told him the girls ate S&C frozen raw, and he gave us lots of coupons. The gobbled up the freeze-dried samples too.
