My yorkie likes to put her paw on top of whatever body part of mine that is closest to her. If we are on the couch and she is sitting next to me and I'm petting her, she'll take her paw and put it on top of my arm. If i'm on the ground and I'm playing a game with her, she'll sit there and put her paw on top of my hand or my leg. I looked it up and got some mixed answers. Some said it was a sign of dominance but others said it was a sign of affection. I'm not sure if its appropriate behavior so I wanted to ask the experts on the yorkietalk forums ;P I myself don't mind it b/c i actually think its a cute expressive behavioral thing that she does as if she is trying to communicate with me but I also suppose I wouldn't want her to be doing it if she is just trying to be dominating.
