Everyone seems to want the akc registered yorkies? What is the difference? My Gracie seems to be just as cute or cuter than the akc ones?
Some registries have more reputation than others, and AKC is the older and more reputable here in this country , but the registry does not guarantee the health or the quality of the puppy registered with them. The more reputable registries around the world keep better and more accurate pedigree records and now some rely on DNA records to assure the accurate lineage on the dogs registered with them, like AKC is doing for a while now. Basically the more reputable the registry , the more accurate the lineage records and pedigree will be.
Other things like health, size or conformation can not be proved just by the registry of the puppy or dog.
Basically, no matter what kind of registry the dog has, you need to make sure you get a good responsible breeder. Someone here mentioned: "You buy the breeder first" and that expresses it well.
Good Luck with your girl.
Post her pictures !
