I've never had a yorkie that was potty trained before 6 months of age. A breeder told me once that they can't control their muscles until 6 months of age, and I did notice a change around that time. Also, my males were neutered at 6 mos., so that may have helped too. All of mine, past and present, took at least until 9 months old to be fully trained.

And I agree that you shouldn't yell at a puppy. My favorite method is to praise like crazy (and give treats) when they go where you want them to. And when they have an accident, I don't say anything. Just clean it up and don't scold. They want to be praised, and eventually they get it. Of course, if you can't watch the puppy every moment, you need to either crate her or restrict her to a small space. And I took them out every hour no matter what (or put them on a weewee pad). Eventually, they figure it out, but it takes lots of time and patience.
