Fiona got her first heat a day before her scheduled spay surgery, which I was really upset about, and argued with the vet that I wanted her spay done sooner than when he said!
I put a diaper on Fiona, and only kept it on when she was out of her crate, so when we were home, and out with us, she would have it on, when we went outside of course we took it off, when I was at work during the day, I left it off, and to my surprise Fiona kept herself really clean. Make sure you don't bring her around any unneutured dogs, and she should be fine. Fiona was just sorta not herself for a few days......if you have any concerns, I'd call ur vet! good luck!
