Hi Rhian! & welcome to YorkieTalk

First, I'd suggest trying the bathtub to see if Robbo likes water all around him (some don't) & try filling it gradually to a point that he'll be able to kick about. Then I'd suggest looking for dog swimwear/flotation gear. I'd worry about anyone's dog that lived near water getting loose to go for a swim on their own; they tire easily & unfortunately sometimes the outcome is not good
