This is horrible, but I absolutly hate pitbulls...I know that they have a bad rap or whatever, but anything that can exert that much force in a bite well it is not for me...What makes me feel bad about this is that, whenever I see a pit with its owner at the dog park, on he street, anywhere, I immediately pick up my Bruce and get as far away as possible. I used to believe that pits were as good as any dog, but then there was a particularly vicious attack on another little dog here at one of our dog parks...While making their way to the small/shy dog area a lady and her husband were casually walking when a beautiful brindle pit that had been playing ball nicely with its owners spotted the female dog bounded over and clamped down on the dog, picked it up and just shook the life out of it without letting go for a second...The other little dog did not even have time to make a sound. It took the boyfriend of the small dog owner jumping on the dogs back and wrestling it to the ground (who got a minor bite in the end as well), the pit's owner trying to pry its mouth open, and a bystander beating the pit with one of those chuck it dog things to get the little girl out of the pits jaws. What happened in the end is animal control came and seized the dog, the little one was obviously dead, and two sets of owners were devestated. The pit had never apparently been aggressive before, and I stand by my opinion that pits are just not for me.

Pits are just sooo strong for their size, they posses superior athletic ability, and their jaws do not lock but exert more pounds of preassure than those of many other breeds. Love your pit if you have one, but Bruce and I will respectfull stay away!
