The kids have all seen someone over the years too. My oldest son was freaked out last week when we swore that he put a tshirt and socks on his bed to take a shower. When he came out they were gone. He looked everywhere and still hasn't found them!

Well, since you have more then one person seeing this entity...sorry to say...most likely...your not imagining it. Get a tape recorder...and make sure there is no interference noise..like TV, radio, kids, or dogs. Ask this "ghost" some questions. In all likely hood..you will get some answers. Sometimes even two or three distinct voices.
This is called Electronic Voice Phenomena. You can even do a google search on this so you can hear what they sound like. Sometimes it is hard to hear if you do not know what you are looking for. For the most part..they always seem to sound like they are whispering.
But I must warn you..hearing ghost voices in your own home can be quite un-nerving. Before you do this..be ready to accept the fact that you may have some ghostly "squatters".
