That brush probably has the little "balls" on the pins. I used to use one of those, they worked OK but they were breaking Beamer's coat.
After checking the grooming section on here and asking questions I bought a Madan pin brush from Toplinepet.com.
Jenny, the owner is a member here and she is very helpful on which pin brush you need depending on your Yorkie's coat.
But, you should ALWAYS get the tangles and mats out of your Yorkie before bathing.
The Yorkie is a single coated dog, there is no undercoat.
