Wow! You def don't want to quit your job because of him, especially the way the economy is now. I've worked with people similar to him and dreaded going to work... as soon as I got to the parking lot, I got a migraine!
Is it possible to change your location or proximity to him? I put a pic of my son on my desk, and only focussed on him. I was determined that these people were not going to "win," nor drive me nuts.
Stay busy and just tune him out.
