My yorkie is due any day now, we took her to the Vet last week for an x-ray and shows 3 puppies. Today she is on day 59, last night I thought she was in labor for she was breathing a bit heavier than usual but than she seemed more relaxed and now she is just lying most of the time. I was just wondering if you do need to tie the umbilical cord with floss before cutting it. Last time I made the mom break the umbilical cord and one of the puppies cord started bleeding and it was than that I tied it with floss to stop the bleeding, I want to prevent that from happening again, can anyone please give me any suggestions.
