I had something similar happen to me several years ago with my first Yorkie. He had cardiomyopathy and a severly enlarged heart with fluid in his lungs. He was on Lasix to keep his lungs cleared of the fluid. I went to get a refill from the vet one day, and they were out so the vet gave me a script to get filled at the drugstore. I was certain that it was going to cost more, but was shocked to find that it was a fraction of the price that the vet was charging.
