My dad's family is like this. They want nothing to do with our dog, and heck they even give us crap about our kids making a mess. They have this fancy big beach house at the beach and always want us to come. Last year we got a pet sitter for our dog we had then and headed that way. Low and behold, there best friends were there with their dog. It made me so angry and hurt. So, after voicing a few opinions we made the choice not to go anymore. I can tell it is hurting them with us not there, but I cannot fathom them choosing their friends over family. It just goes to show you!

**Just had to add. I am not bitter about it. They still see all of us quite a bit, we just do not vacation at their house!**
