That's what I use under the x-pen, they work great and they can be wiped down or hosed off, and hung to dry. I think you might want something sturdy under it though to stop any run off on to the carpet. Maybe a desk chair floor cover or something like that, you know the kind that makes your chair roll better, you can get them at staples. Or you could even use a piece of plywood. My husband built a tray out of wood that the whole pen could sit in, it was just plywood and two by fours and I put the table cloth over it and then set the pen in it. This stopped anything from running onto the carpet. I put a puddle pad in the pen for her to use, then there was only one to change, it would also help the pups Learn where to go. Just a thought.
