I took her to the Vet and mentioned it earlier this week and the Vet said it's usually a sign of dehydration - but Zoey drinks and keeps very hydrated, so she said it could just be behavioral and/or a habit she is picking up. However after reading some of the post on this thread I'm thinking it could be the peanut butter for sure, since nothing else has changed with Zoey since that time that I can think of..
Interesting. With Cooper this has been going on for months and months. He hasn't had peanut butter, but still licks his lips sometimes at night. The Zyrtec works a little I suppose. I doubt he's dehydrated. The lick lipping stops immediately when he gets out of bed, which leads me to believe maybe it's something in the bedroom. Or, I know that with me, allergies are worse at night when I'm laying down.

It certainly is still a mystery. My vet also said behavioral but I definitely doubt that. I'm not terribly worried about it as he's really healthy.
