I think getting them on neutral ground is a good idea, so your dog is not trying to protect what is his.

How do you react when your dog growls at the other dog? Do you correct him?

My Harley is not yet 2 yrs old and he is neutered. Her dog is about 6 months old and is not but will be soon, I do like the idea about the walk, I havent tried that yet and its a good idea. When Harley growls we do correct him, its not allowed. the puppy isnt doing anything to Harley and we want him to know its not accepted. Harley cannot jump off the couch (he never learned how to) and we have kept him on the couch (and honestly Harley prefers it up there when the puppy is here) when he comes over to keep them separated. My other yorkie Samson doesnt really like the puppy but will play with him and certainly doesnt growl at him or snap at him like Harley does. I feel sorry for the little guy because he really wants to play with my boys.
