I don't really think anyone is trying to discourage you, but it is only fair to point out the cons as well as the pros. You need to weigh all the pros and cons before buying any breed. And most members on here are passionate about the Yorkshire Terrier and know the drawbacks to having one own us.
If, after weighing all the pros and cons you know that you are able to afford the sometimes unexpected expense that can come up, then go ahead. You will find nothing but support on this forum.
And, you can get vet insurance. Many members on here have it for their little ones, and will be able to make recommendations on an insurance company. I don't have the insurance as I have a separate savings account for emergencies.
