Just to introduce myself. I live mid Vancouver Island and this is my first post. Have always had Yorkies and I'm sad to say I lost my beloved ANGUS 3 weeks ago (Aug.11) at age 14 1/2 yrs. I miss him dreadfully. We plan on getting another "buddy". He will never replace Angus as every Yorkie we've had over the years has a very special place in our hearts. I'll know when it's time to take this next step.

I am hoping, when the time comes, to perhaps purchase a "rescue" Yorkie this time. Was wondering if anyone out there cld advise me about going this route. It wld make me feel so much better knowing that I helped save a precious Yorkie plus with us being seniors, we certainly wldn't want our Yorkie to "out live" us at this stage of our life. That is my main fear now, as we've had Yorkies who have lived to 16 years old.

What are the pros in adopting? What are the cons? I appreciate any help you can give me. Also there doesn't appear to be alot of Yorkies for adoption out here on the west coast, most seem to be out East or down in the States. Would adopting from US be an option ??

Thx. so much for any advice you can give us.
