I don't see where you can guarentee that all AKC Yorkies are purebreed. I have seen some AKC Yorkies that I clearly didn't look anything like a Yorkie. Some of the biggest puppy mills use AKC.
OP: I know I have had puppies that stop growing after 6 months. I have had some gain a pound after a year old. There is no way to guarantee weight. Just have to wait and see.
