How hard would it be to say 'What a beautiful little dog!' and just go on her way? The only thing I can figure is this woman must have been hurt the same way by someone at some time in her life, so she feels the need to pass it on.
Not that this is an excuse for her, there is no excuse for poor judgement nor bad behavior.
When I first joined YT, I was worried how my dog would measure up to everyone else's dogs. But now, after reading so many stories... it's not at all about what they look like (except the show/breeding forums)... it's more about how they make us feel, the love they give us and their ability to teach us how to love them back. |
Totally agree with you. Maxine is everything to us, but she is no show dog or even an example of the breed standard. She has short legs, a little beer belly, and roundish.....and weights now close to 7 pounds, but has never been overfed and always exercised, it is just how she is. I pity the poor fool who would say anything negative about her to my wife, who is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Shorei Goju as well as fast with a comeback. Even I am careful what I say.
