| Congratulations on your new puppy and Welcome to YT! I'm surprised your vet didn't tell you that your pup should not be walking around the neighborhood until he's had his last set of shots and then add 10 days after that. It can be very dangerous for him if he walks in/sniffs/licks anything that another sick dog may have left on the ground/floor. Anyway, please don't take him anywhere except your backyard and only if you know that no other dogs have used it to poo/pee on. Otherwise I would suggest teaching him to potty on pads until he's had all his shots. Yes, his little guard dog antics are quite normal. I wouldn't worry about it too much right now, because he shouldn't be outside, but when you do - you can start to teach him not to chase the runner by doing a technique that distracts them. As for the dog next door - when your little one gets a little more secure, you'll be able to socialize him more. Good Luck and keep us posted, ok?
