Thank you. I have baby gates but he jumps over them and nearly kills himself, he is a real Houdini!!! He can also jump thru the stair rail vertical slats and get above the gate to the stairs. My, this dog is smarter than me!
I am trying to confine him in a safe laundry room at this time to try that out, and the crying is BAD! I will keep trying all measures and be patient.
He has also taken to peeing if left alone even for short times, however tired or peed-out on the walk beforehand. I guess he just does not like being alone and we will just have to hope he improves with age and experience. Perhaps we will have to resort to belly bands when left alone until we have cured this.
As he was a rehome we were extra soft on him at first, but we are paying the price now! The training must begin in earnest before his habits get fixed in him.
He is such a sweetie though and melts one's heart, bad habits and all! LOL.
