I never did any of the above. The one foster I did had two hips done at the same time and he did remarkably well. He did not have any physical therapy at all....at home or at the vet and my vet has a quite large physical therapy program. I need to make a mental note to ask him about why he prescribes pt for some surgeris and not for others.
I have a friend who had this surgery on one of her yorkies two months ago and he is just now starting to use his leg on a consistent basis. She used a different surgeon and the only thing she did was water therapy. It just takes time.
