We took Maggie to the vet the very next day and even though our vet IS very busy we can come whenever it's needed since we are good customers with our five fur kidz... LOL... I guess we financed his new home...
There is nothing wrong with Maggie's vocal cords it's just her way to tell us she wants something... when she is exited she has a bark that goes right through all your nerve endings so we are kinda happy that she doesn't bark when she wants something...LOL!
I always care when I am following up on a dog that is so sick, that is why I asked. I hope you were not being facetious.

Yes, there are times I have felt as if I have financed things for others. Luckily though, not the vet because Freeway is such a healthy girl. We are so fortunate in that respect.

I do not know if you know Freeway's history. We found her wandering the freeway when she was a wee little one. She has been ours since. She has since been microchipped after we did an extensive search for her owners. Truly a match made in heaven.

Of course, I question that you can "come whenever needed", especially, if your vet is so busy. But I guess you have to wait like the rest of the patients do unless there is blood or respiratory failure. Aren't you the one who does not believe in vaccinations even? How much business can you give a vet if you only have one special needs dog & do not bring the others in for routine shots? Do you get all your dogs' teeth cleaned? That would make you extremely memorable. I am on first name basis with my vet & his wife because of the teeth cleaning alone.

My vet is so highly respected in my town, we are lucky we get a routine checkup appointment when we want one. He is good about keeping abreast of our little one's needs and all, he actually books our appointments for us and notfies us. It also helps that he lives in our neighborhood.

He even offers holistic health care. He and his wife (both vets) believe in proper nutrition, inclusive of nutiritionial supplements, herbal meds, homeopathy, & acupuncture if needed. There are board certified veterinary specialists within a 5 minutes drive, who will be over in a split second if need be for a consultation. And the best part, they have 2 vets that specialize in small dogs only. YAY!!

I am sure we could get "fit in" if there were an emergency though because the doctor would see that as an anomaly.

We were lucky to find them since we came from the north-north-east and went southwest, after having originally grown up in southern southern CA.

Sorry for going on and on.
Just wishing for good health for your girl Mitzi.
